New Google Personal Safety App: Let Your Ski Pals Know Where You Are

The New Personal Safety App from Google helps Skiers unintentionally separated from their groups, easily let others know where they are, even when their phone is Off Line!

Share your Location with Selected Contacts

Trusted Contacts, the new personal safety app from Google, lets you share your location with selected contacts in everyday situations or if emergencies arise — even if your phone is offline or you can’t get to it.

How it Works

Once installed, you assign a “trusted” status to your ski pals or anyone that you might want to have access to your location. Your trusted contacts are able to view your activity status — whether you’ve moved around recently and are whether you are currently online.

If you find yourself in a situation where you’re separated from your ski pals or are running late, you can share your actual location with your trusted contacts. And if your trusted contacts want to know your location, they can request it.

Get the Drinks In

If everything’s fine, you can deny the request. But if you’re unable to respond within a reasonable timeframe, your location is shared automatically and your ski pals can get the drinks in or determine the best way to respond. You can stop sharing your location or change your trusted contacts whenever you want.
