Ski Safari for Solo Skiers
Skiing for Solo Skiers
Paul signed up for a Inspired ITALY Dolomites Ski Safari and is a great example of the many singles and solo skiers, male and female that join us for a holiday skiing in the Dolomites on one of our fully guided skiing holidays.
The Dolomites Ski Safari is Ideal for Solo Skiers
Around half of Inspired ITALY’s Ski Safari guests are solo skiers.
We ensure that all are of a similar ski ability and fitness. Our groups are small, a maximum of seven guests and all groups are led by a dedicated native English speaking Ski Leader.
The average age of a Dolomites Ski Safari guest ranges from 50 to 65 years. Larry holds the record as our oldest guest at 79 yrs. When we asked Larry ‘how likely are you to recommend Inspired ITALY’s Dolomites Ski Safari?’ he scored us at 4 out of 10. We asked ‘why?’ “Because none of my friends ski”, he said with a beaming grin!
Ski the Dolomite Mountains…
The Inspired ITALY Dolomites Ski Safari is skiing in the Dolomites at is very best! As the worlds largest ski area, journey through the Dolomite Mountains on the lesser known, quieter pistes to find the best snow, stunning vistas, local cuisine, wines and stay the night.
There are no obligatory black slopes and you can cruise the whole week on nothing more challenging than a red run, if you wish! For those seeking a little more, you can take on the ‘Tomba la Bomba’, Vulcano and a number of other great black slopes.
There is something magical about staying on the mountain; As the other skiers drop back into their valleys and return to their hotels, you pull up a chair, order a drink and allow the tranquility to wash over you as you watch the sun slide behind the mountain opposite, because, more than likely, you’ll be skiing it tomorrow! Enjoy a quiet social evening in the tranquility that is unique to a mountain top!
“The accommodation has also changed in recent years, thanks to increased demand. Gone, mostly, are the youth-hostel-style dormitories with bunk beds adorned with drying socks and poorly washed-out underpants, and in their place are simple but stylish double rooms with en suite bathrooms. One rifugio — Baita Cuz, Buffaure, even had a sauna where we were encouraged to smear ourselves with snow after suffering the heat. I loved the evening ritual at sunset while sipping a thick, velvety Italian hot chocolate or one of a variety of aperitifs such as a bombardino — basically an egg nog.” ‘On a ski safari in the Dolomites’ by Christian Wolmar. The Times, 14 Feb 2015.
Your base hotel is a four star gem and the rifugio’s are no longer ‘hardcore’! Wifi, Aperol Spritz, power showers and even Finnish saunas greet our guests! Wherever possible you will have an en suite room. On occasion, you may have to sleep in dormitory style rooms with your fellow guests.”
“The Cavallino d’Oro is a lovely hotel where we could not have been looked after any better and the variety of overnight stops made it all great fun.” Colin & Sarah.
Your Ski Leaders – our five dedicated Ski Leaders, all native English Speakers, three British and two Australian, have over 30 years of experience skiing in the Dolomites.

Paul D had this to say, “I’m back in the USA. Thanks for an awesome trip. And thanks everyone for putting up with the lone Yank. Y”all were way too much fun to travel with and hope to run across your ski tips in the near future. Whuts yer fav way to exchange Photos?”
Patricia R. sent us this, “It made such a lovely change to be skiing on such empty slopes and in such good snow conditions, and the views were, of course, superb. A lovely holiday, and great company. Thank you.”
Tim F. at 75 years of age, shared his thoughts too, “I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the week, and all the activities, action, company, and refreshments, and I have at least one skiing friend who will get a good review of it. Obviously a great “thank you” goes to Tim, and Louise, for the inspiration to do this, in this way, and the organisation with the hotels and rifugios, and the leading. Good Luck Tim, on all future Ski Safaris!”
